Whitepaper Highlights Limited Partners’ Perspectives on Portfolio Management Technology
WATERTOWN, MA – Dynamo Software, Inc., a premier provider of industry-specific investment management software for alternative asset firms and asset allocators, has released the findings of a quantitative survey focused on the difficulties faced by limited partnerships that are monitoring and reporting on a multi-asset class portfolio. Respondents to this survey comprised of representatives of prominent endowments, pensions, foundations, and family offices within the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Dynamo Software’s whitepaper based on the survey results, The State of Technology for Multi-Asset Class Portfolio Tracking revealed institutional investors and family offices lack a clear-cut technology solution for efficiently managing a portfolio with a diverse set of asset classes. Generic office software, systems developed in-house, and industry-specific platforms all have inherent limitations that prevent an optimal management process. However, respondents to this study noted opportunities for vendors to alleviate the issues associated with multi-asset tracking, citing an “end-to-end” centralized system with intuitive navigation and customizable reporting packages as desired feature sets.
Key statistics from the whitepaper include:
- 72% of respondents reported that they either Often Experienced Difficulty or Occasionally Experienced Difficulty tracking investments across multiple asset classes.
- Reporting was cited a more significant concern, with 84% of respondents noting that they Often Experienced Difficulty or Occasionally Experienced Difficulty with this process.
- 60% of respondents stated that they were Uncomfortable with the amount of time spent generating performance reporting.
